Introduction:
RTEO's Dogging course runs over three days and blends theory with hands-on yard practice using real cranes, real loads, and real gear. You'll spend the bulk of your time on the tools rather than in the classroom, which is how slinging and signalling actually sticks. Class sizes are capped at 8 to make sure everyone gets adequate crane time.
What to wear and bring on the day:
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Government-issued photo ID (driver's licence or passport) | Required |
| Hi-vis shirt — sleeves must cover shoulders | Required |
| Full-length work trousers (no tracksuit pants, shorts, or activewear) | Required |
| Lace-up steel-cap work boots | Required |
| Hard hat | Required |
| Rigger-style gloves | Required |
| Safety glasses or clear-lens sunnies | Bring if you have them |
| Sunscreen and a water bottle | Strongly recommended |
Between October and March the yard gets hot — bring extra water. Between June and August, pack a waterproof jacket and a jumper, as a good portion of each day is spent outdoors regardless of weather.
Please note: learners who turn up without the required PPE will be sent home and charged a rebooking fee. We can't make exceptions on this — it's a WHS requirement for yard access.
